The first thing I want to do this course is to work ahead. I have a heavy course load and a busy schedule and find it easy to fall behind. I work behind a computer at my job so I can utilize that extra time when it is slow to do the extra credit or get even further ahead.
As far as time strategies go, the checklist method is one of my preferred methods. The logic behind this is seen in The Psychology of Checklists by Lauren Marchese. I also like to weigh the pros of starting a project now rather than later like in 4 Questions to Help You Overcome Procrastination by Peter Banerjea. I am ADD so I have had to work with time management with almost every aspect of my life. I have this method I use similar to a checklist method. I make a list of all the things I need to do, I usually have a separate list for homework and household. In each list I make a list of the tasks or assignments that need to be done and allot a reasonable time for it to be done in, usually I lean on the side of caution and allot slightly more time than I think I need. I then do each task and write down how long it took me and then set aside the time I had remaining and put that into a sort of mental time bank. I allow myself to withdraw from that mental time bank to do something off road between tasks or I save it all for the end and celebrate the extra time I now have. It sounds tedious but it keeps me on track for the most part.
